March 11, 2020 – National Nutrition Month

MEAL PLANNING

This weeks tip for #NationalNutritionMonth is focused on meal planning. Whether you live rural or urban, I think we can all agree that this is key to a stress free week.

Benefits of Meal Planning:

  • Low Fat, Low Sodium Meals – We tend to eat more nutritious meals.
  • Less Stress – “What should we have for Dinner Tonight?” is not something I think about during my day.
  • Save Money – A grocery trip a day can be costly! I usually do a weekly or bi-weekly haul.
  • Less Food Waste – If I plan to use my produce, I usually throw less away.

FIRST – I write out my supper time meals. We usually eat supper leftovers for lunch the following days. And breakfast tends to be oatmeal or smoothies.

SECOND – I make a grocery list based on my meal plans. *quick tip* As you can see below, I organize my grocery list by sections in the store.
